History of the Firm

Beucler, Kelly & Company was established on November 1, 1985 with the merger of two Certified Public Accounting firms located in Wayne, Pennsylvania – Dwight Beucler & Company, Ltd. and John J. Kelly, III, CPA. The firm subsequently acquired the accounting practice of Irwin and Company in 1993 and changed its name to Beucler, Kelly & Irwin, Ltd. Although the firm's current corporate structure officially dates back to 1985, we have a history that extends back to the 1940’s when Dwight's father, Douglas R. Beucler, opened his own accounting and tax practice serving clients in New York and New Jersey. In 1974, Dwight formed Dwight Beucler & Company, Ltd. and began providing tax and attest services to clients in Pennsylvania.

Today, we consider ourselves to be a full-service certified public accounting firm that specializes in providing accounting, auditing, tax and management advisory services to emerging businesses, established small businesses, not-for-profit organizations and employee benefit plans in addition to individuals, estates and trusts.

Our client base extends primarily throughout the Mid Atlantic and New England regions as well as the Mid West and other parts of the United States. We also service clients in Great Britain and Bermuda.

For a professional service firm to withstand the test of time it must earn the loyalty of its clients

Beucler, Kelly & Irwin, Ltd. is a firm which understands that unsurpassed service is critical to client retention.

We believe that working relationships which endure are based upon a genuine interest in our clients' unique financial situations-whether a business or an individual. We must understand our clients' needs, be sensitive to their goals, and respond to the demands of opportunity with critical thinking. We believe that a close, personal relationship with our clients is based upon many factors, not least of which is listening, understanding and collaborating to structure solutions which work to achieve their goals and objectives.

We strive for continuity of staffing on engagements in order to increase efficiency in the delivery of our services and thereby achieve fairness of fees. Many of our clients have been with us since the inception of the firm, and they have come to appreciate the longevity of our Directors and the genuine interest they have shown in their success.

Our doors are always open should a client stop in unexpectedly-we are never too busy if they need to speak with us regarding an urgent matter.

Peer Review

We believe in demonstrating our commitment to providing the highest quality of service through participation in the self-regulatory American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Peer Review Program. From the perspective of the consumer, our participation in this program is evidence of our dedication to quality, integrity and service. It is for this reason that many businesses, both large and small, as well as entrepreneurs, individuals, bankers and attorneys turn to firms that participate in the peer review program when selecting or recommending a CPA firm.

Because the size of a firm is no indicator of the quality of its services, review standards are the same for large and small firms. The program requires that we engage an independent review team every three years to evaluate our policies and procedures related to the following areas:

There are three types of peer review reports that can be issued: Pass, Pass with Deficiencies, and Fail. We are exceedingly proud of the fact that all of our peer review reports have been issued with a rating of Pass – meaning that the firm is conforming to professional standards.
